PLANET FUNK began with a very simple dream. A group of young entertainers, known as “Planet Funk Dancers” got together (summer 1989) to amuse audiences, teach dance, and fun doing it! Every year, that audience becomes bigger, we continue to discover new places and ideas to teach and entertain in the field of urban dance!

Pairing customized legend impersonations from the 30’s through the new millennium with acrobats, gymnasts, dancers and comics, in a stunning display of American history, reflected through entertainment icons. Most of their show projects become an endeavor in electrifying a diverse audience!

Shawn Welling is the chief director of Planet Funk which he founded 15 years ago. Shawn started his career by performing & choreographing for the NBA World Championship games for the Houston Rockets in 1994 and continued with NFL & NHL half-time shows, concert openings, stage productions, music videos, over 60 television appearances plus conducting dance master classes throughout the United States!

Having performed in over 53 cities including as far reaches as the Middle East, being hired by 23 fortune 50 companies; as well as a myriad of church and outreach programs! Incredible Events also books the Bella Donna dance troupe and their individual dancers! Bella Donna is the premiere belly dance troupe in Houston, Texas. They perform five nights a week at a variety of venues and were voted Houston's best belly dancers by the Houston Press. They were featured in the International Academy of Middle Eastern Dance's recent "Belly Dance-O-Rama" and opened the show for the famous Dina of Egypt's debut in the US. The members of Bella Donna have taught and performed all over the world!

Sahira was practically born on stage, having studied music, drama, and dance since the age of two. The musicality instilled within her as a classically trained flautist and singer infuse her dance with a sophisticated quality that is admired by dancers around the globe. She is known for her friendly and energetic style, making her a favored performer for restaurants and family events. Her extensive training in not only Egyptian, but also Tribal and West African dance gives her performances an incredibly intense and earthy energy that captivates audiences.

Tamara is a student, teacher, and choreographer, but first and foremost, she is a performer. Her style has been described as tasteful, elegant, and free; her persona graceful, warm and relaxed; her movements fluid yet precise. A style that is deeply rooted in the traditional Oriental dance form. She has preformed in countless restaurants and clubs throughout Texas, such as Agora, Bokka Bar, The Helios, The Russian Bear, Club Crystal, Opas, The Lotus Lounge, R&R, Spy, Zorbas, Mykonos, The Sands, The Cotton Exchange, The Pyramids, Café Europe, and Tonic!

Victoria's unique style combines graceful elegance with exciting percussive movement. She is a warm and polished dancer who is dedicated to constantly expanding her experience in this art form.Victoria's tasteful and professional style has made her a first class choice for private parties as well as large public functions. Her ability to interpret the feeling behind the music is very apparent in her moving and exciting performances. Her extensive training and love of the dance enables her to represent it in its highest form.

Zylona began her dance training as young girl studying Ballet, Modern and Flemenco. Soon, she found herself drawn to Middle Eastern Dance. She began her bellydance training 7 years ago and has studied with numerous high profile teachers and entertainers, including Dina and Suhaila Salimpour. Zylona is known to captivate with her graceful fluid movements and sensual feminine style. Her interpretation of Middle Eastern rythems impresses even the most sophisticated audiances. Her Greek heritage allows her insight and a feeling of kinship with Arabic culture and emotions expressed in Arabic music.
